If you were watching social media during SHOT Show 2023 (and if you're reading this, you probably were), you likely saw Foxtrot Mike's AK AR hybrid, the Mike-102. What you might have initially picked up on is the third element in that alloy: the H&K part. The Foxtrot Mike Mike-102 is a hybrid AR 15 and AK 47 rifle with some HK influences forged in.
Does that make it an AR-AK-HK? We're not entirely sure, but it does make the weapon very interesting. And more than a little appealing. Read more about the Foxtrot Mike Mike-102 and see why we think so. ...
Foxtrot Mike Mike-102
AK AR Hybrid (+ some H&K)...
The FM Mike-102 is chambered in .223 Wylde, but it feeds from rock-n-lock AK magazines. It utilizes Foxtrot Mike's compact direct impingement system with a folding stock and an HK-style forward charging handle. ...
This combination gives you the ergonomically familiar design of an AR, the advantages of (and satisfaction of using) rock and lock AK mags, with the added bonus of an HK slap. And you can shoot it folded....
What's not to like about that? Nothing, that's what. There is nothing not to like about that.1...
Some other FM Mike-102 things you might want to know: .

- Takes AK102 compatible magazines in 5.56x45
- Will be available in sizes ranging from a 9-inch pistol all the way up to a 16-inch rifle.

A customized version of the Russian AK-102 (not a Mike-102) in 5.56x45mm in the hands of the
Mobile Brigade Corps (BRIMOG), a gendarmerie-like national police formation in Indonesia.
This particular weapon is equipped with the Kalashnikov Group modernization kit, which
includes a top rail cover that replaces the rear sight. (Hat tip: @diximauser on Instagram, q.v.).

Foxtrot Mike describes the Mike-102 as a "...modern AK-Hybrid, designed for the modern shooter to use a wide variety of AK 5.56/223 magazines and offer the familiar Rock N Lock magwell. ...
The 102 is lightweight, accurate, and modular, much like an AR-15, but with the added benefit of using most AK magazines. It uses a simple direct impingement operating system that is simple and reliable. ...
The location and operation of the charging handle will feel familiar to an AK user. The charging handle can be installed on either side, which is great for left-handed shooters. The handguards are easily removed for maintenance or swapping the charging handle. They feature a full-length rail and monolithic-style upper receiver, mated to a lower receiver. ...
The integrated, proprietary recoil system allows for the upper to function without the need for a buffer tube, and the Mike-102 will function with a folded stock or brace. Offered in several barrel lengths and variations to suit any shooter's style, it is compatible with any stock or brace designed to be used with Picatinny rail adapters."...
As best we know in the early stages, the Mike-102 barrels are 41V50 from Gerdau, drilled, reamed, and buttoned in-house. They are chambered in .223 Wylde and come with a 1:8 twist. This allows you to run .223 or 5.56. The twist rate will allow you to adequately stabilize almost any grain bullet you’ll put through it....
We will have more for you (including a Foxtrot Mike MIke-102 review) as soon as production models are available. ...

1Jim Grant at AmmoLand addresses that very thing in his article about the Mike-102, saying, "Truth be told, this gun feels like a Frankenstein rifle that incorporates several oddball features from other guns, and you know what – that’s awesome!"...
