While this spring system is probably not going to be equivalent to having your pistol ported and comped, I found the difference between the stock spring system and this one to be clearly noticeable with respect to felt recoil.

My one criticism is that once you get the package, the springs are not clearly labeled. However, you can figure things out by looking online and lining up the springs.

I started with one of the medium springs and then changed things out to the longest one. Reliability is not affected at all from what I can tell using a variety of ammo, both HP and FMJ.

One extra benefit of this system is that for me it makes the gun easier to re-assemble after field stripping and cleaning. The color contrast make it it easier to line up the guide rod precisely which is a somewhat common problem people have when re-assembling the 80X.

Overall I am happy with the purchase and would consider purchasing another DPM system for a different firearm in the future.
