Heckler and Koch’s HK MR556 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Rifle is a direct descendant of the HK416 and an improvement over conventional AR type carbines and rifles. Developed by HK as a premium level commercial/civilian firearm, the MR556 is built on the HK gas piston operating system and offers a piston and solid operating “pusher” rod in place of the gas tube normally found in AR15, M16 and M4 style weapons. This far superior system virtually eliminates malfunctions by eliminating hot carbon fouling and keeping waste gases from entering the receiver.
