The oversized lip around the magazine extends past the recessed area on the mag-well just enough to provide a positive purchase on the magazine. The serrated texture on the sides provide enough traction to confidently load and unload the magazine, even with a cold wet hand, and provides greater control when guiding into the mag-well. Made from precision machined, high-grade billet aluminum, the Velocity base pad is plenty strong enough for the most demanding user and can withstand hitting the concrete over and over again. As with all of Killer Innovations products, the Velocity base pad is made right here in the USA.

Easy to install, fits perfectly and gives excellent additional grip to help further control recoil. Last round is hard to get into the mag and fits a little loose but otherwise a great product. I have 3 of these and also the standard baseplates (also excellent).
