Screw for front sight won't start, thread pitch issue?

The screw for the front sight would not start/seat/fasten into in the front sight. The screw itself appears undamaged, it's not bend, does not have stripped threads or burrs. The only thing I can think of is the thread pitch between the front sight post and screw are off. seat easily. The hardest part should be getting the screw in the tool (with aging eyes and less than stellar manual dexterity for fine detail work).
I didn't even bother with the rear sight since I couldn't get the front sight installed.
Really a shame because Rainier got this to me in a few days and there's nothing like having to source parts for different vendors for a build and then having something as basic as a front sight result in an unfinished project. Also makes me question if ordering a $500+ slide since a $50 sight (I really didn't want another TruGlow, just wanted something basic and non tritium-based) failed.
