The revolutionary, patent-pending Drivelock design, uses three independent wedges that interface with the angular grooves in our proprietary barrel nut. This system clamps the rail onto the steel barrel nut with extreme force and precision, while also driving the handguard rearward towards the upper receiver. The slightly larger ID of that extrusion gives us more real estate around the gas block, even more rigidity than the M76, and takes longer to heat.

Drivelock is no joke! Very solid lockup and very tight tolerance with milspec upper. Perfect length for a 10. 3" barrel and a Surefire RC2. Came without instructions but fairly intuitive to install.

I honestly haven't installed this one yet but its not my first one. SOLGW only makes quality ime. Out of the box, everything appears correct. These are well made handguards. Straight. Solid. Not too light. Not too heavy. Holds attachments well. Has a very clean finish. By far my favorite handguards but Im admittedly a SOLGW fanboy.
Review by Daniel M. on 7 May 2023review stating Great handguard with a couple caveats.
Great service from Rainier per usual and great handguard with a couple caveats. The handguard is very stable both in terms of flexion and at the point of connection. Installation was also relatively easy. However, the handguard shipped with the screws, wedges, and barrel nut all attached together. When I removed the screws I still couldn’t get the...Read MoreRead more about Great service from Rainier per usual
barrel nut out of the handguard. The wedges which the screws thread into are also meant to be removed first, but mine were so tightly installed I had to use a rubber mallet and sacrificial screws to pound them out from the inside. This issue was exasperated by the handguard coming with no instructions whatsoever. Once the wedges were out everything came apart and went back together without issue. One other small hiccup I ran into was incompatibility between this handguard and the rifle speed gas control gas block. This handguard has protrusions on the under side of the top picatinny rail which limits the internal diameter headspace of the rail. The rifle speed gas control has a straight gas tube and therefore taller gas block which strikes those protrusions preventing installation.
TLDR: Very nice rail at premium price that comes with no install instructions. Read LessRead less about Great service from Rainier per usual
