This is the spring and buffer used in the Vltor A5 Recoil System. Kit comes complete with Rifle Length Spring, Standard A5 Buffer (weighs 5.3 oz), Receiver End Lock Plate and Nut.
Note: The A5 Spring and Buffer kit is designed to work only in the Vltor A5 Recoil System and must be used with an A5 or AR10 Short Rail receiver extension - attempting to use these parts in a regular carbine receiver extension will result in damage.

This system makes the most difference in recoil short of an aggressive muzzle brake. It makes even larger calibers feel like 5.56, and makes 5.56 feel like .22lr. The extra heavy buffer options work well with suppressors as well.

'Haven't been able to make it to the range yet, but the installation went smoothly with the new BCM A5 buffer tube I bought to go with it. For the price (or maybe $5 more), I'd like to see this kit come with a QD end-plate.
